West Haven High School Yearbook; West Haven, CT; Anchors Aweigh; Class of 1945. 122 pages. Volume 27. Book size is 8 X 10 1/2 inches. Cover is blue cloth with gold lettering and design; design is an anchor with a rope tied to it; lettering is "Anchors Aweigh" and "1945". Book is profusely signed by many students and teachers. Class yearbook is dedicated to the students of this class that were soldiers in World War II. Front of book has a color page with 91 next to a blue star and a 1 next to a gold star - perhaps this is the number of residents of West Haven, CT that served and died in WWII, but that is idle speculation on my part. Book shows deceased class members up to 1997 and married or other relationships next to the students pictures. Pages are all intact with no rips or tears, but the spine of the book is frayed and has a 5 inch tear on it. Binding is a little loose but still intact. Sections include: Dedication; Faculty Honor Roll (Serving in the military during World War II); Faculty; Senior Class; Former Classmates in Service; Organizations; Sports and much more. Signed by many students. Very good Condition.
